Very interesting. I am running the Dublin marathon this year too - and like you am a marathon virgin. Nice to see everyone suffers the ups and downs during training - particularly the long runs. I think my knees are shot to pieces at this stage. But I'm determined even though 26 miles is a very long way....

I hope you are getting better weather for training where you are than we are here in Dublin. It's not cold, but the wind is blowing and the rain seems to pick up every day just as you get to training time. I'll be in CT for my (wife's?) well - our - baby shower this weekend. I'm all signed up for the Hammerfest Triathlon down on the CT shore Sunday morning. I need to finish quick and race back home for our noon baby shower... Priorities. :)
Keep up the hard work, it'll be worth it when you cross the finish line! Don't get caught up in the trap of worrying about your finishing time, because there are WAY too many factors that can lead to it being a good or bad race. Just ENJOY it! As for the training; even though you don't have any weddings before the next few long runs, don't take 'em lightly... they will be killer worjouts, your ITB bands will be begging you to stop... just don't. :)
I'll keep reading - you keep running!
~Brett (TRI PHX)
